My first blog, how exciting!

I thought this would be a good way to share, record or vent my feelings about our forthcoming FET cycle. (For the un-initiated that's Frozen Embryo Transfer.)

Our second cycle of ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) in 2004 resulted in our beautiful son, born June 05, and nine frozen embryos. We would love a second child (if not a third and fourth, but that may be just greedy!) and have decided now is the time to try...

So, I've made the call and have an appointment on August 10 to have the Prostap injection. This is what they call down-regulation or 'drs' to the regulars. It stops my normal hormonal system and 'baselines' my system so the doctors can then make it do what it should. Last time I remember hot flushes and severe headaches but hopefully it's not for long and should be worth it!

So I'm back on the roller coaster - wish me luck!
